South Sound Behavioral Hospital is a brand new, state of the art mental health and chemical dependency hospital opening in late spring of 2019.  We are actively searching for experienced leadership and skilled staff.

Leadership Positions (All Full Time):

Performance Improvement/ Quality Assurance Coordinator– assigned to the performance improvement program to assist the leadership, medical staff, and facility in designing, planning, implementing and overseeing comprehensive and integrated PI and Risk Management programs. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health-related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare of behavioral health setting involving quality improvement preferred.

Housekeeping Supervisor – provides supervisory support and assists the housekeepers in daily housekeeping routines such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, and public areas, while ensuring a safe and risk preventative environment within OSHA regulations.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care environment of care and at least 1-year experience in supervising personnel.

Staff Positions:

Activity Therapists, Full Time/Per Diem – responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy and certified as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  Minimum of 1-year related experience with an understanding of mental health setting.

Nursing Supervisors, Full Time (Evenings, Nights, Weekends) – responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performances Improvement efforts while providing supervision to staff assigned to his/her shift.  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mental health setting with supervisory experience preferred. Current RN license in good standing.

Staff Nurses (RNs), Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (All Shifts) – registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health setting preferred. Current RN license in good standing.

Program Therapists, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Weekends) – performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. Must possess master’s level social work or counseling license in IL. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.

Dietary Aide, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Weekends) – responsible for the following: assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required. Must have prior experience in food service and a basic knowledge of food service sanitation.

Utilization Management Coordinator, Full Time (Weekdays) – responsible for contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning. The UR Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through communication with the treatment team.  The UR Coordinator advocates for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact. The UR Coordinator chairs treatment team meetings and continued stay reviews as indicated. Bachelor’s degree in health care related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management.

Admissions Clinician, Full Time/ Part Time/ Per Diem (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends) – responsible for assisting in the process of responding to referrals and other requests for services and information. The A&R Counselor provides technical assistance to the discharge planning process, under the direction of the Director of A&R. Provides general support to the case management program. Master’s degree in human relations field. Master’s level license as a mental health professional (social worker or counselor).

Community Liaison, Full Time (Days) – implements the philosophy, policy, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the senior management team while maximizing referral potentials from assigned accounts, and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the business development systems. Bachelor’s degree in health related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care business development with measurable business development results, and a knowledge of mental health and chemical dependency treatment principles.
